In this blog I am going to talk about the interior structure of a mosque, I will talk about the elements that serve in functional and symbolic purposes for the mosque.
The first one is prayer hall, prayer hall is the main space area where the prayers take place. Also in larger mosques, it may be divided into sections for men and women.
Dome , I designed this dome to my mosque ,so many mosques have a dome above the prayer hall, often with a skylight that allows natural light to filter in. The dome may be intricately decorated and symbolizes the heavens.
Minarets are tall towers, often attached to the mosque, from which the call to prayer (Adhan) is made. They also serve as architectural landmarks. Some mosques may have multiple minarets.
Ablution area can be inside or outside however for my mosque design I designed it outside so people get more fresh air while cleaning themselves. Before entering the prayer hall, Muslims perform ablution (wudu) as a purification ritual. There are designated areas with water taps and fountains for this purpose. This researched helped me to understand the interior structure of the mosque so that I use these structure for my major project and also it helped me to generate my idea to design my project.
