Floor Plan of Ledra Theatre

 Before starting design my Floor Plan I have looked to few theatres to understand the interiors and the spaces, the rooms and the size.

Most Theatres have cafes and restaurants for customers, to make them feel comfortable and some theatre have shops which I saw in few London theatres, for instance Lyceum theatre. In this theatre they are showing the famous kid movie Lion King. In this theatre there is a shop are that selling t-shirts or souvenirs about the concept of the show, which I find interesting so that I am going to add shop and cafe to my theatre for the ground floor. Of course my theatre will include ticket office that people can buy their ticket before entering the show. On the other, the shop will also sell some drinks and snacks like popcorns, chips chocolates and cotton candy for kids.

I think it is very important to exhibit and show people such things by including cafes and restaurant or shops for clothes, people can enjoy while spending their time in theatre before watching the theatre.

The stage and seats will be located on the second floor. People will use stairs to access the seating area. I preferred to take the traditional stairs to my theatre rather than the futuristic lifts because theatre is a traditional form of entertainment and has been around since 1752.  I just want to add a little traditional design to my theatre by adding stairs because I'm going to design it in an expressionism style, which isn't traditional.

So I will use Autocad for my Floorplan, I have used this software for last term as well in Digital Art Module.

I have started to draw the shape of the theatre with my measurements, all of the units are IN MILLIMETERS.

After I have started to design the seat, the measurements of each seat is 

tall of the seat(558.8 millimetres) and deep of the seat(914.4 millimetres)

After that I have started do connect each seats together, the total seat will be 720 , I didn't put too much seats because in Nicosia there are just 80,000 populations which is not that crowed for a city. However lot of tourist are coming to visit Nicosia. 

After designing the 720 seats, I have placed the seats to perfect spot;

Then, I have started to add the stage and separate the rooms with doors;

As this is first floor people should use stairs to enter the seating area to watch the show, so I have added two stairs to opposite sites;

Also I have added the names of the ares so that viewers can understand the where are the areas or toilets.

After finishing this plan I have started to work on the first floor which will include the toilets, cafe&restaurant, shops, ticket office and of course the entrance to theatre.

First I have started to separate the areas with lines;

After separating the areas, I was ready give names of the areas and I have added green area in the centre of the theatre hall so that people can feel comfortable and feel fresh.

Making this ground floor was easier that designing the first floor;

To sum up I had fun while using this software, its easy and easy to control the tools. My next task is talk about the materials that I will use for my theatre and of course 3D digital design by using Sketches software, I will post them on my blogger.
