Project Sign Off : Theatre

I have finished my project sign with my tutor, we discussed about the ideas, the expressionism theme and architects and materials. Also we have talked about the software that I need to use for my project sign off (Autocad,Photoshop and Skecthup). I will research Frank Gehry, Santiago and Kenzo Tange architects because they are using expressionist style for their buildings.

One of the reason that I want do design a theatre for my country is that, in Cyprus we don't actually have a huge modern theatre, all of them are small and basic. Also we used to have a huge theatre however it get burnt 10 years ago and the government didn't care about that and they did nothing to build a new theatre. So that's why I really want to design a theatre that will look modern and I want my theatre to make a good contribution to the city. I am hoping that expressionist architecture design theatre will bring tourists to come and be on the agenda.

And finally, the building that impressed me the most and made me choose expressionist was Walt Disney Concert Hall,  Walt Disney Concert Hall is designed by Frank Gehry. Walt Disney Concert Hall is an internationally recognised architectural landmark and one of the most acoustically sophisticated concert halls in the world.

From the stainless steel curves of its striking exterior to the state-of-the-art acoustics of the hardwood-paneled main auditorium and creative spirit of the city of Los Angeles and its orchestra.

  1. Good, clear post, your written English is improving all the time! Well done. Would like to see some further development drawings based on the initial sketches you made in Week 2 and then some thoughts on how you are going to translate these ideas into Digital outcomes with Sketchup.
