SMART Objective: Architecture

In my Architecture project, I will design eco-friendly building for my home country.I would like to construct this eco-building in Kyrenia, which is located in my country. The location of Kyrenia, which is close to the beach and the city centre, is excellent for this environmentally friendly building. Since there are many young people in Kyrenia, young people is my main market when designing this building. As you now, global warming is a big problem for our world. Currently climate change is taking place. The cause of these are because of  the greenhouse effect. So I would like to to design environmentally friendly structures to stop these problems. To build an eco-friendly buildings, there are some construction techniques that you need to know, for instance it is important to use renewable, sustainable and ethically sources. Materials must be reclaimed and recycled. It is also important to focus on temperature control and energy reduction through insulation, wall thickness ,double glazing of windows in eco- friendly building. The methods that I will use in my building must produce the least emission and pollution. I will also focus on energy and water conservation during and after the build.

Lets talk about the benefits of designing eco-friendly buildings. Eco friendly buildings are built with natural environment in mid. They can even result in positive impacts for the environment through carbon capture providing habitat for flora and fauna and promoting local ecological health. Also the environmental benefits of eco-friendly buildings contribute to slowing down climate change, reducing greenhouse gas and carbon emissions. In my opinion there are many economic benefits of building eco- friendly buildings. Reduced utility bills for tenants and owners as electricity and water resources are used more efficiently and supplemented with renewable energy. I may cost lower construction and higher property values. Furthermore eco-friendly buildings contribute to positive social impacts for their occupants, neighbours, and broader communities. Finally, better health and well-being for people who live and work in eco-friendly buildings.

  1. This is far too long and is not a smart objective as we discussed in class - we will need to discuss this further when you have your meeting with me
